How to hide an advert, or see why you got it

The short version
Press More under any advert in your bump channel. OneBump tells you why that advert was sent to your server. If you can manage messages, the same answer has a button that removes that one advert from your channel.

What can I do with an advert I received?
Every advert has the same four buttons. Any member can press them.

How do I hide one advert?
You need the Manage Messages permission in your server, or Manage Server.
- Press More under the advert.
- Press Hide this advert.
- OneBump removes that advert from your channel and says “Advert hidden”.

How often may I hide adverts?
Up to 5 a week is always fine. After that, a hidden advert counts like a deleted one. Deleting most of the adverts you receive breaks The deal behind bumping: you show other servers’ adverts, and they show yours. and can lower your server’s How your server is doing on fair play: Good standing, First warning, Limited, Paused or Under review..
Do not delete adverts by hand
Leave adverts in the channel for at least 24 hours. Do not clear the channel with a purge bot. For one advert you object to, use the hide button.
How do I stop a whole kind of advert?
- Block words. Admins see a Blocked words button on the same card. Read how to block words.
- Report it if it breaks the rules. Then OneBump can deal with it in every server.
- 18+ adverts never arrive unless your server asked for them.
- Premium servers can stop receiving adverts altogether.
What can go wrong?
- “Only moderators can hide adverts”. You need Manage Messages. You can still report.
- “That isn’t a OneBump advert”. You used the Apps menu on a message that OneBump did not post as an advert.
- “That advert is already gone”. Someone removed it before you.
- It says the hide counts as a deleted advert. That was more than 5 this week. Block a word instead of hiding advert after advert.
Quick answers
Can members hide adverts?
No. Hiding needs the Manage Messages permission. Everyone can report an advert and ask why it was sent.
Does hiding an advert report it?
No. Hiding only removes it from your channel. Report it too if it breaks the rules.
