What do my bump stats mean?

4 min read · Updated

The short version

Your server’s Overview tab shows four numbers for the last 7 or 30 days: Bumps, Adverts delivered, Sent to similar servers, People who bumped. Under them are a chart of bumps per day, the hours when your server gets bumped, and your top bumpers.

Where are my stats?

On this website. Log in, press your server, and stay on the Overview tab. You need the permission in that server. Owners and administrators have it. Next to Period, press Last 7 days or Last 30 days. Every number and chart then counts that stretch of time.

The Overview tab. The numbers here are examples.

What does each number mean?

  1. Bumps: how many times your server was bumped in the period, by hand and by auto bump.
  2. Adverts delivered: how many times your advert was posted in another server. One bump is posted in many servers, so this is much bigger than the number of bumps.
  3. Sent to similar servers: how many of those went to servers with your category or tags. Their members are the most likely to join. Pick a and to raise it.
  4. People who bumped: how many different people bumped. An automatic bump is not counted as a person.
  5. Bumps per day: one point for each day. A day starts at midnight UTC. Gaps are days when nobody bumped.
  6. When your server gets bumped: the hours of the day when people bumped by hand, on your own clock. It needs 10 bumps by hand in the period, and it is not shown while auto bump is on.
  7. Top bumpers: who bumped most in the period. Press See all for the full .

How do I use them?

  1. Fill the gaps. A Free server can bump every 2 hours. If nobody bumps at night, ask a member in another time zone.
  2. Thank your top bumpers. A role or a shout-out keeps them going.
  3. Check what did not go out. The Activity tab lists every bump that was refused and says why.

What is the Activity tab?

The tab is the server’s audit log. Everything shows it all, newest first. Bumps: every bump, who sent it, how many servers it reached, and why one did not go out. Settings changes: every change to the settings, with who made it. Moderation: any fair-play note, warning, pause, 18+ lock or deleted advert, and whether it came from OneBump’s checks or a moderator. Who bumps most is on the Leaderboard tab.

How do I make a stats report?

A stats report is a snapshot of your numbers for a period you choose. You can print it, save it as a PDF, download it as a CSV file, or send its link to another admin of the server. It has nothing to do with reporting an advert.

  1. Open the Stats reports tab.
  2. Pick a period: Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Pick dates. For your own dates, choose a first and a last day and press Show the numbers.
  3. Look at the numbers. Looking is free and saves nothing.
  4. Press Save as a stats report. This uses one of your reports.
  5. Open the saved report under “Your stats reports”. Press Print or save as PDF or Download CSV.

A Free server can save 1 every 30 days. A Premium server can save 30. A report can go back 35 days, because single bumps are kept that long. The box “Reports left” says how many you have.

Can I see numbers in Discord?

Yes, a few. /info has three parts: /info server shows your total bumps, your place among all servers and the last 30 days, /info user shows one person’s bumps and votes, and /info bot shows OneBump as a whole. /leaderboard shows your top bumpers.

What can go wrong?

  • Everything is zero. Nobody bumped in that period. Your chart starts with the next bump.
  • “Sent to similar servers” is low. Pick a category and tags that fit.
  • I cannot save a report. You used your reports for now. The page says when the next one is free. Looking at the numbers still works.

Quick answers

What does “Adverts delivered” mean?

The number of times your advert was posted in another server during the period. Each bump adds the number of servers it was posted in.

How long are my stats kept?

The dashboard shows the last 7 or 30 days. Single bumps are kept for 35 days. Your totals are kept for as long as OneBump is in your server.

Is a stats report the same as reporting an advert?

No. A stats report is a printable summary of your own numbers. Reporting an advert is done with the Report button under it.

Your next step

Open your server and see when it is bumped most.
